This is a tad bit late, but SUPER HUGE congrats to Keri Hehn who qualified for World Championships in Rome!She hauled ass in the 200 breast at nationals and finished second with a time of 2:23.70.Her 3rd place finish in the 100 breast (1:06.71) wasn’t too shabby, either. She’s currently training in Riccione, Italy with the USA Swimming national team before they head off to kick some butt in Rome. She’s having a blast, and we must share this hilarious blog post with you:
“Tonight we decided to go to this restaurant by the beach and it was such a long walk that we had already done numerous times so we went to this bike place and rented a six person bike. Four of us girls were cruising along on this thing down the middle of Dante Street, and everyone was staring at us. Then we pass by some other members of the team and decide to pick them for some money. Ha ha. That didn’t last long. We get to this restaurant, and it is nice. We sit down, and we have some bread and oil. One of the girls puts it in the ASHTRAY. All of us are eating it not thinking of anything, and all of a sudden this lady brought us out the real dish to mix everything. We were like, “OMG WE WERE EATING OUT OF AN ASHTRAY!” We were soooooooooooo embarrassed! We were like, “yeah that girl is totally going home tonight and being like, ‘Oh these stupid American girls came in and thought the ashtray was a dish!” But it was so clean and we are not used to having ashtrays on the table. Who knew!!!”
